Blessings of the Animals

The “Blessing of the Animals” will be a positive, inclusive event where ALL are welcome. We are giving all animal lovers the opportunity to celebrate the miraculous creatures that share our lives and convey a blessing to them.
This is an international day of celebration, based on a centuries-old tradition recognized with a feast in remembrance of St. Francis of Assisi (1182-1226). He was known for his vow of poverty and his special connection to animals, among many other things.
All creatures great and small are welcome, including fur, finned, and feathered!
Itinerary
- 5pm: Opening Activities – Vendors, Food Trucks, Music
- 5pm – 6pm: Individual blessings of the animals. After the blessing, participants can go to a table to get a personalized Certificate of Blessing. The 1st 50 attendees will receive a Smart Dog Dallas treat box and a St. Francis Medallion.
- 6:40pm: Group Service led by Alfie’s Mom
- 7pm: Safe Travels
- Special Notes: For the safety of all participants (predator and prey alike), all animals must be on a leash or in a carrier.
